Pałac Biskupa

Bishop's Palace (Pałac Biskupa)
'The documents show that between 14th and 17th centuries it served as the seat of the episcopal curia. The building was erected nearby the Kamień Pomorski cathedral in the second half of the 15th century in the place of the former court of the curia of Pomeranian bishops from the 14th century. In 1568, the building was thoroughly rebuilt in the Renaissance style. The interior and facades were changed, including the gable, which was covered with traceries, fashionable at that time, referring to the decorations of the Gryfici princely family residencies.
The characteristic elements of the palace are the late-gothic, tracery gable from the north, the 16th-century bay window on the west side wall belonging to the best works of this type of architecture in Pomerania, and a three-story staircase inside the building.
After rebuilding from the devastation of World War II, a public library was established in the palace. Currently, the palace is used as a church archive and a place where church groups have meetings. In the summer, the interiors are used as exhibition halls.' Wikipedia

Wikipedia
