New Cross

I visited the war cemetery few weeks ago. To my surprise the cross commemorating Polish soldiers that fought and died for homeland on all fronts of the world had been replaced.
This is the old one. It was made of wood and had 'God. Honour. Homeland' engraved on its arms.
Pictures taken March 2015.

Honor. Ojczyzna.'
Zdjęcia zrobione w marcu 2015.

The commemorative table says: ' Eternal honor and praise for Polish soldiers who died for homeland on all fronts of the world. Sybiraks, Soldiers of the Home Army, combatants, Polish Army, citizens of Kołobrzeg'.
The new cross has modern design. I don't know what kind of material it's been made of.
There is neither a placard nor an engraving explaining the meaning of the cross. I expect it hasn't been finished yet. I'll check it again in the future to see if it's been changed.

Nowy krzyż został zaprojektowany w nowoczesny sposób. Nie wiem, z jakiego materiału go wykonano.
On the left side of the cross (both the old and the new one) there is a field altar made of stones from St. Jerzy (St. George) church, which was destroyed during the WWII.
----------

  1. The crosses are so different and beautiful. I bet the modern one makes a lovely shadow when the sun is low! Great photos. :)

  4. The new one does not have the same effect as the old one and the new one I think should have been larger
