Who is ready for the sea adventure with Vikings? Unfortunately it is too cold and windy even for them. The Viking tourist boat standing in the farther part of the harbour, waiting for better times. Probably no sooner than early spring. I'll have to wait for this adventure then.

Kto jest gotowy na przygodę z Wikingami? Niestety jest za zimno i zbyt wietrznie nawet dla nich. Turystyczny statek 'Viking' stojący w dalszej części portu, czekający na lepsze czasy. Pewnie będzie to wczesna wiosna. Muszę więc poczekać.

Actually most of the ships were sheltered from wind and waves. I saw only Monika III leaving for a short trip on open sea.

The Gen. Jan Henryk Dąbrowski Park was founded in 1873. Prior to that, the place was one of the key elements of the fortress Kolobrzeg. Only here you can find the remainings of XVII century fortification. In 1935 citizens of Kolobrzeg established the site as a historical treasure. The park was originally named after Christian Joachim Nettelbeck who was a mayor of the city during the war with Napoleon armies in 1807.
In 2012 the park was given a new name that is of gen. Jan Henryk Dąbrowski.

Park im. gen. Jana Henryka Dąbrowskiego został założony w 1837r. Przedtem to miejsce było jednym z głównych elementów Twierdzy Kołobrzeg. Tylko tu wciąż można znaleźć XVII-wieczne fortyfikacje. W 1935 roku mieszkańcy Kołobrzegu ustanowili to miejsce zabytkiem. Nadano mu imię Chrystiana Joachima Nettelbecka, burmistrza Kołobrzegu w czasie bitwy z wojskami napoleońskimi w 1807r. W 2012r. park dostał imię gen. Jana Henryka Dąbrowskiego.

This gentle slope used by children, used to be the most important part of the fortification. A slight dip of the ground made it possible to erase blind spots of an enemy movements during the battle.

Ten łagodny pagórek, na którym dzieci mają dziś tyle zabawy, był najważniejszą częścią dawnej fortyfikacji. Obniżenie terenu umożliwiało wyeliminowanie martwych punktów działań wroga w czasie bitwy.

Ducks found a place to swim. Luckily none of them froze to ice overnight.

Kaczki znalazły miejsce do pływania. Na szczęście żadna z nich nie przymarzła do powierzchni lodu w nocy.

It looks like the marina has become my favourite place in Kolobrzeg and the main theme of my posts. I really like coming here because even in high season it's relaxing and peaceful. During the day there are not so many yachts, most of them are usually out sailing. Some of them though stay in the marina and you can see people sunbathing on the ship decks. If you're looking for some fun you have to visit the marina tavern in the evening. They serve beer as well as rum and provide live music. During the winter the marina is almost empty.

Wygląda na to, że marina stała się moim ulubionym miejscem, a tym samym głównym tematem moich postów. Bardzo lubię tu przychodzić, ponieważ nawet w sezonie letnim jest tutaj cicho i spokojnie. W ciągu dnia nie ma wielu jachtów, prawie wszyscy wypływają na morze. Ci, co decydują się tu pozostać, opalają się na pokłądach swoich łodzi. Jesli chcesz się zabawić, koniecznie musisz przyjść do tawerny portu jachtowego. Znajdziesz tu piwo, rum i muzykę na żywo. A w czasie zimy marina pustoszeje...

Even in winter, it's a romantic place for couples.

I don't know what the reason was but all the tallest and the most beautiful trees have been cut down!!!

ZABAWA means fun in polish... :)

An event called 'Bike Riding on a Floating Plank' takes place in Kolobrzeg Marina every year in August. This summer during the 17th edition, we had more than 30 participants. As usual there was a lot of fun, especially for the people watching the show, because the water was really cold :)

Każdego roku około, w połowie, mniej więcej środka sierpnia odbywa się w kołobrzeskiej marinie całkiem zwyczajny turniej rowerowy. Nazywa się Jazda Rowerem po Desce na Wodzie. Tego lata odbyła się 17. edycja tego całkiem zwyczajnego konkursu i uczestniczyło w nim ponad trzydziestu zawodników. Jak zwykle byłą świetna zabawa, zwłaszcza dla tych, którzy widowisko oglądali. Temperatura wody raczej nie nastrajała do pływania.

The rules are simple: you have to ride a bike along the lenght of plank - measuring 21 metres - floating on water. The plank is 30cm wide at the beginning, but after 18th metre it narrows to just 16cm. Easy, peasy :0)

Zasady konkursu są proste: należy przejechać rowerem po desce, która unosi się na wodzie. Ma ona 21 metrów długości i szerokość 30cm na początku, a żeby było jeszcze łatwiej po 18 metrze 'trasa' zwęża się do 16cm. Bułka z masłem :0)

The event was organised by Mr Antoni Szarmach who was also commenting the competition.

New Year's Eve brought another foggy day to my city. It was windy and quite cold as well. I didn't have anything planned for the evening, so the stroll was long and fruitful. I hope you'll enjoy the fog as much as I did. This is the first part.

Sylwester przyniósł kolejny mglisty dzień do Kołobrzegu. Wiało i było zimno. Nie przygotowywałam się szczególnie do wieczoru, więc spacer był długi i owocny. Mam nadzieję, że spodoba Wam się mgła, tak jak mi.To część pierwsza.

So, it was Friday. I left work, the sun was shining, but it looked as if it was hidden behind a mist. If it was winter, I would come back home and tuck myself in a blanket. But... it was the beginning of the spring, so I decided to take a slow, lazy stroll to the marina. Not so long ago the new Harbour Bridge had been opened.

Był piątek, weekendu początek i miałam ochotę na leniwy powolny spacer. Słońce świeciło, ale odnosiłam wrażenie jakby za mgłą. Popołudnie, które nastrajało do błogości. Jakby to była wciąż zima, to wróciłabym do domu i zakuliła się w koc. Na szczęście mieliśmy już wiosnę i zdecydowałam się pozwiedzać.

Wybrałam marinę, bo niedawno został otworzony Most Portowy.

That part of the marina was still a building site or rather there was still soil instead of water.

Nowa część mariny wciąż była w budowie. A raczej powinnam powiedzieć, że wciąż była tam ziemia zamiast wody.

I was really tempted to find something connected with yoghurt for ABC Wednesday, but I decided to go for Yuletide. I finally took some pictures of our Christmas Market. It's a last chance to show them.
