Prunus

Remember when I got upset because of the felled trees in the marina. It turns out, we will have some trees planted! The new ones will be Prunus x eminens 'UMBRACULIFERA'. It's a small tree with regular, spherical crown. A tree looks as if it was cut by Edward Scissorhands. Leaves are minor, shiny  and dark green. It blooms in April with white flowers. It likes sunny and warm position, but survives frost very well. It's a mix of  sour cherry (Prunus cerasus) and European dwarf cherry (Prunus fruticosa) inoculated on trunk of  bird cherry (Prunus avium).

Pamiętacie, jak się przejęłam ściętymi drzewami w marinie? Wychodzi jednak na to, że inne drzewa zostały tu nasadzone. Będzie to wiśnia osobliwa Prunus x eminens 'UMBRACULIFERA'. To małe drzewo o regularnej, kulistej koronie. Wygląda jakby Edward Nożycoręki sam je przyciął. Liście ma drobne, lśniące i ciemnozielone. Kwitnie w kwietniu białymi kwiatami. Lubi stanowisko ciepłe i słoneczne, ale bez problemu przetrwa mróz. Jest mieszanką wiśni pospolitej (Prunus cerasus) i wiśnie karłowatej (Prunus fruticosa) zaszczepionej na pniu czereśni ptasiej (Prunus avium).

  2. There's a tree-trimming (cutting? massacring?) company that roams our small town ("City of Trees"). I grimace whenever I see them on the streets.
