Tree arcade
A historic hornbeam (Carpinus betulus L.) alley, commemorating prof. Ryszard Siwecki is a natural monument consisting of 313 hornbeams.
This kind of alley, which is called the tree arcade is quite rare nowadays in garden architecture. It was popular during Renaissance and Baroque. Trees are planted on both sides of steel latticework and they meet at the top creating a dome.
Hornbeam alley at Towarowa St was designed within the first half of 19th century. After the WWII it was neglected and its revitalisation was performed between 2003 - 2009. Prof. Ryszard Siwecki was the one who prepared a proffesional know-how of taking care of the trees in the alley.

Zabytkowy bindaż graba pospolitego (Carpinus betulus L.) im. Prof. Ryszarda Siweckiego składa się z 313 drzew i jest pomnikiem przyrody.
Tego typu alejki nie są obecnie popularne jako w architekturze krajobrazu. Swoje lata popularności świętowały w czasach renesansu i baroku. Drzewa posadzone są po obu stronach stalowej kratownicy, aby spotkać się koronami drzew i utworzyć sklepienie.
Bindaż przy ulicy Towarowej został zaprojektowany w pierwszej połowie XIX w. Po drugiej wojnie światowej został bardzo zaniedbany Jego rewitalizację przeprowadzono w latach 2003-2009, a ekpertyzę jak dbać o drzewa w alejce przygotował prof. Ryszard Siwecki.
