Independence Day 2020

Dzień Niepodległości  w Kołobrzegu obchodzimy w spokojny i uroczysty sposób. Najpierw msza w katedrze, potem przemarsz pod pomnik Piłsudskiego, przemowy, śpiewy i grochówka. W tym roku nic z tych rzeczy nie miało miejsca. Oczywiście wszystko z powodu COVID - 19. 

Poszłam zatem na cmentarz i zapaliłam znicze. Była przyjemna pogoda, choć niebo przez cały dzień zasnuwała szarość. Z powodu choroby nie odwiedziłam bliskich na Wszystkich Świętych. Poza tym premier zamknął cmentarze na ten czas, więc to była moja pierwsza wizyta w listopadzie.

We celebrate Independence Day in Kołobrzeg in a calm and solemn way. First, a mass in the cathedral, then a march to the Piłsudski Monument, speeches, songs and pea soup. This year, none of these things happened. Of course, all because of COVID - 19.

So I and my family went to the cemetery and lit candles. The weather was pleasant, though the sky was grey all day. Due to illness, I did not visit my relatives during All Saints' Day. Besides, the Prime Minister closed the cemeteries for that time, so it was my first visit in November.
