The Goldsmiths' Chapel

Chcąc więc podkreślić swój status, z rozmachem udokumentował swoje szlacheckie korzenie pniem drzewa rzeźbionym w piaskowcu a spełniającym tu zadanie drzewa rodowego zwieńczonego herbami. W kaplicy jest również okazały marmurowy sarkofag Johanna Christiana von Blockmana, liczne renesansowe płyty nagrobne rycerstwa śląskiego - rodów: Bedaw, Schkopp, Strachwitz i Trepitz. ' Informacje na tablicy w kościele.

----------

'The Goldsmiths' Chapel, known as the Great Almoner's Chapel No. 2, was created around 1390 and from the very beginning, it was a collection of works of art of the highest quality. The greatest mannerist epitaph in Wrocław is located here. Covering the entire west wall, seven meters high, the monument is dedicated to the person of Georg II Furst von Kupferberg. It was funded by the wife of the deceased and made in the years 1600 - 1605 by the Amsterdam sculptor Gerhard Hendrik. Although today it is deprived of many of its original elements - including 13 wooden kneeling figures of family members and the central scene with Christ on the cross - it is still the wealth of various materials, magnificent figures of Moses and John the Baptist that have no equal. Georg II Furst von Kupferberg was engaged in the silver ore trade. So, wanting to emphasize his status with a flourish, he documented his noble roots with a tree trunk carved in sandstone and serving here as a family tree crowned with coats of arms. In the chapel, there is also a magnificent marble sarcophagus of Johann Christian von Blockman, numerous Renaissance tombstones of the Silesian knights - the following families: Bedaw, Schkopp, Strachwitz, and Trepitz.
