The Palace of the Grand Masters of the Knights was built in the fourteenth century on the site of the temple of the sun god Helios. During the reign of the Ottoman Empire, the building was converted into a prison. During the Italian occupation, the palace regained its splendor, as it was the summer residence of King Victor Emmanuel III, and then Benito Mussolini. There is a museum in the palace nowadays.

Pałac Wielkich Mistrzów wybudowano w XIV wieku miejscu świątyni boga słońca Heliosa. W czasach panowania imperium osmańskiego budynek przekształcono na więzienie. Podczas okupacji włoskiej pałac odzyskał świetność, gdyż stanowił letnią rezydencję króla Wiktora Emanuela III, a następnie Benito Mussoliniego. Obecnie znajduje się tam muzeum.
