B for Russian Banya

A week ago we had The 5th World Festival of Walruses (V Światowy Festiwal Morsowania) in Kolobrzeg. We call 'walruses' the cold water swimmers. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of the swimmers, but I have a few pictures of a Russian banya (sauna) and a hot barrel (tub).
During the day...

and in the evening...

i wieczorem...
Can you see the gentleman having a bath in the picture below? ;)

Czy widzisz mężczyznę w gorącej beczce na poniższym zdjęciu? ;)
I really wanted to take pictures of cold water swimmers during the evening, but unfortunately I was too late :(

Bardzo chciałam zrobić wieczorne zdjęcia morsom, ale niestety spóźniłam się na ich kąpiel :(

  1. Wow, this is really unusual! Even better than seeing the freezing swimmers, I think. Spasibo.

  2. Like Dina said already, very unusual indeed, I don't think we have something like this in The Netherlands.

What a wonderful choice for the letter B, some education about another culture in another part of the world. Thank you for sharing this!

    Have a nice ABC-Wednesday / _ Week

    1. Banya is all right, because it's sauna and warmth. The hard part is rubbing snow in your skin. But I believe this is the fun.

    1. Actually, swimming in cold water is good for your immunity. Even cold showers at home makes you healthier.

    2. Glad you said that, Klara, because I still have not gotten up the courage to this winter to go try our town's indoor swimming pool. I hate cold water. :)

  10. We have our polar bear swim on New Year's Day in Vancouver but the Festival of Walruses has a romantic feel to it with the Russian Banya and magnificent hot barrel. And, yes, I can just make out the gentleman in the bath. :)
